Purpose & Structure


Charitable Purpose

Section III of the Ngai Tahu Charitable Trust Deed state that the Ngai Tahu Charitable Trust is established to provide and promote, for the benefit of Ngai Tahu whanui: (a) assistance to those who are needy, poor, sick or infirm, whether in the form of employment, housing health care, financial assistance or otherwise. (b) assistance in the development of employment opportunities in the form of training and vocational skills courses, work schemes or otherwise. (c) emergency relief services in the form of shelter, clothing, food or otherwise. (d) education and research whether relating to work skills, social or cultural skills, activities and responsibilities or otherwise. (e) assistance to disadvantaged, disables or at risk children and young people. (f) assistance in the advancement of religion.
