Kia Ora FM 89.8 is the Regions premier bi-lingual iwi radio station. Kia Ora FM’s Brand is: “Kia Ora FM 89.8 Poutokomanawa o Rangitaane” “Kia Ora FM 89.8 the heartbeat of Rangitaane” This brand came about as Kia Ora FM is the communication heartbeat to the community and to iwi in particular. They wake up to Kia Ora FM 89.8 and go to sleep to it, so its like a heartbeat that is always heartily pumping in the background. Kia Ora FM’s Mission is : “By providing quality bi-lingual broadcasting we empower Kia Ora FM 89.8 listeners to enhance their te reo me ona tikanga as a lifelong journey” The essence of this statement is that we want listeners to have a lifelong journey of enjoying Kia Ora FM 89.8. This journey will help all listeners irrespective of the level of their Te Reo me ona tikanga they are at. Our role is to enhance their knowledge and empower and assist them on their journey.
