Purpose & Structure


Charitable Purpose

The objects of the Division shall be to further the aims and objects of the Society throughout New Zealand and particularly within the area covered by the Division's jurisdiction in accordance with the Rules. The objects of the Society include, inter alia (a) To institute or to assist the institution of research into the causes or the means of cure or alleviation of Parkinsonism and/or related or allied disorders. (b) To ensure the wider dissemination of exiting knowledge about Parkinsonism and/or related or allied disorders both to the lay public and to the medical profession by the sponsoring of suitable publications, lectures, seminars, or other means which may from time to time seem appropriate. (c) To promote and extend the means and facilities for the treatment of and investigation into Parkinsonism and related or allied disorders. (d) To promote the establishment and support of supPROVIDES ADVICE, INFORMATION AND ADVOCACY TO PEOPLE LIVING WITH PARKINSON'S AND RELATED CONDITIONS.

Entity Structure

The Division is managed by an Executive Committee consisting of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and up to seven members elected at the Annual General Meeting. The Executive Committee meets monthly except in January, and is required to meet at least once in every three months.
