Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

ARAN Animal Rescue NZ is one of a few dog rescue groups in New Zealand who specialise almost exclusively in rescuing pound dogs. ARANs purpose is to not only save as many pound dogs as we possibly can, but also raise the profile of their plight, together with the potential of these dogs.  ARAN has mandatory desexing of its rescue animals and have established a network of veterinary clinics who work with us.  We aim to match the right dog with the right family, and offer a two week trial period to facilitate this.  ARAN deems it critical to our purpose to build relationships with the pounds we work with, regional Councils and where possible actively collaborate with other animal welfare agencies. ARAN also provides post-adoption support.
