The purpose of the Trust is the relief of poverty, hunger, sickness or the ravages of war or natural disasters. In addition the Trust will look to the improving the economy of developing countries and raising educational standards. (Note: Developing countries as defined by the United Nations)

It is affiliated with the international organisation Partners Relief and Development, which provides guidance and economies of overhead activities eg website, but does not in anyway control NZ's operations.
