Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To promote and advance the wellbeing, health and safety of the community, assist in the provision of or the advancement of community development, education and recreational opportunities and facilities that support active participation, promote the use and public awareness of the recreational and community facilities, bring together and promote the diversity of cultural activities in the community, promote other local knowledge, facilitate integration and involvement of members of the community via community events and forums which are free and open to all residents, community groups, migrants, and youth, to organise networking opportunities for local and regional social and community service groups to promote public awareness of and access to these services, to organise community activities with strong youth participation for local youth who lack facilities, to seek access to funding and other opportunities that enhance the development, facilities and services of the community.

Entity Structure

Devonport Peninsula Trust has a volunteer Trust Board comprising 6 members and includes a Chairperson and Treasurer with Secretary function provided by a non-trustee member. The organisation has a governance/management structure whereby the Trust Board carry out the functions of strategic planning, policy development, financial accountability and the appointment and supervision of the Devonport Community Coordinator.
