Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To educate and enhance Urban Contemporary Art (UCA) experiences in Aotearoa. Our vision is for emerging and established practitioners to be known as world-wide leaders in improving practice and for youth and the wider communities to understand, value and support UCA. We aim to do this by developing and improving practices in areas such as Environmental Sustainability, Safe Cultural Practice and Arts Commerce, as well as helping youth and communities in identifying what Urban Contemporary Art through accessible art and art activations.

Entity Structure

Aotearoa Urban Arts Trust qualifies to be a tier 3 charitable trust. Our organisation is structured to be a conduit and a facilitator between the creative industries/youth/wider communities and Urban Contemporary Art practitioners. We have a Board of Trustees with one Chief Executive and work on a project by project basis until operational funding can be secured.
