Charitable Purpose

To contract, fund and promote air rescue and air ambulance services in the Canterbury and West Coast regions of the South Island. This involves fundraising and other activities supporting the provision of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter (Canterbury), the New Zealand Coal and Carbon Rescue Helicopter (West Coast) and related air ambulance services.

Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust is an incorporated charitable trust established for the purpose of fundraising to support rescue helicopter services in its regions of operation. Air Rescue Services Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust. Air Rescue Services Ltd operates gaming machines to raise funds for distribution to not-for-profit and community organisations throughout New Zealand, including rescue helicopter services.
