Purpose & Structure
To promote model product stewardship policies, programmes and legislation; researching technical issues; and helping agencies, organisations and companies develop viable solutions; and To bring key stakeholders together to reach voluntary negotiated agreements on specific products; and To hold developed programmes on behalf of industry groups and organisations (both public and private); and To serve as a clearing house for information as a network for product stewardship education, training and development in New Zealand; and To maintain tracking systems and associated data for recycling and waste and provide services and information to interested parties; and To pursue every object or purpose within New Zealand which in accordance with the laws of New Zealand for the time being is charitable.

Governance: The Trust is governed by 3 sitting Trustees. Management & Operations: As pieces of sector work come online, this is currently contracted out to appropriately qualified consultants. Administration & Compliance: Currently 3R Group Limited donates time and disbursements to keep the Trust up to date.
