The trust was established under the will of Joy Lewis Benneworth on 22 June 2005 for the education, tuition and advancement of senior ballet pupils training in Invercargill.

Entity Structure

The Joy Lewis Benneworth Scholarship is operated by two trustees appointed under the will of Joy Lewis Benneworth. There are no paid employees except for on the event of the annual ballet seminar where persons are employed to assist with providing music for dance classes, secretarial services in organising the event and the payment of fees to tutors engaged to provide tuition. The duties to fulfil the day to day requirements of the trust are carried out by the trustees.
