Purpose & Structure


Charitable Purpose

To assist, support and encourage community groups who are promoting, advancing or responding to the needs and general well being of older people. To promote a network among community agencies, statuatory bodies, voluntary agencies and individuals who are working with and for older people. To lobby government, government departments, local bodies, statuatory bodies and community organisations of whatever kind about current and future needs of older people. To establish and maintain an information and advice centre for all groups of persons as above. To provide a forum for those groups and individuals involved to unite around areas of common interest or concern. To establish a register of people offering voluntary or paid services for older people, and to coordinate the linking of available volunteers and services to identified community needs. To encourage & develop new initiatives for older people in response to researched and identified needs. To act as advocate for older people.
