Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The committee’s purpose is to support a professional hospital chaplaincy service, which provides spiritual support to patients, their families, friends, and hospital staff at times of trauma and grief, regardless of denomination or faith or the absence of either, within the hospitals and clinics of the Waitemata District Health Board.

Entity Structure

The committee’s constitution and rules provide for the appointment of at least four members who are nominated by the nine participating partner churches together with membership appointed by the hospital management.
