Charitable Purpose

Kia kore koe e ngaro taku reo rangatira' 'You will never be lost our chiefly language' is our vision. Embracing te reo māori within Te Wairoa so that our language will never be lost. 'Kotahi kapua ki te rangi, he marangai ki te whenua' 'we are the cloud that rains upon our community. Our mission is to promote, teach and encourage the speaking of te reo Māori and its' tikanga (way of life) in Te Wairoa.

There are 11 branches of Te Ataarangi in New Zealand and Australia. We are a branch of Te Ataarangi o Te Tairawhiti which stretches from Kawakawa-Mai-Tawhiti to Heretaunga.
