Reason why charity is no longer registered:

The MindBody Trust was formed (early 2000s) when funding annual/biennial conferences (sums upto $150,000). There has been no conference for 10+ years due to lack of voluntary resources. Since then our finances have hovered around $11000-$7000, topped up a little by small Community Days (16-40 people), now also halted. We now devote our small voluntary resources to maintaining our charitable website www.wholeperson.healthcare, which has clear usefulness to patients and clinicians. It needs upgrading, utilising most of the residual funds. Another focus is pertinent social media contributions and international collaboration. We find the ongoing tasks related to Registration and reports burdensome for the Trustees, for no benefits discernible over the last 10 years. They distract our attention from the energies required to modernise our approach.

Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To provide a network of health practitioners, academics and other appropriate citizens who have a significant contribution to make to the MindBody approach. To promote awareness in the general public of the MindBody aspects of wellness, health, illness and disease. To promote in NZ a general societal impetus for better care for the public and to establish Mindbody approaches as an important and necessary component in working with people in a healing capacity. To encourage competence amongst practitioners by providing education and training in requisite MindBody skills. To establish and provide a vehicle and venue for NZ practitioners to exchange and seed new ideas in the MindBody approach. To embody values important to the multidimensional nature of the MindBody concept. To do all things that are in the opinion of the trust incidental to or conducive to the attainment of the objects of the trust. To raise and employ funds for any purpose authorised by these objects.

Structure of the trust: The MindBody Trust Board consists of six members. The members of the MindBody Trust Board share the responsibilities of Chair, Treasurer, Secretary. The nominated Treasurer left the Trust in April 2016, and no designated person has been identified to replace him. “The trust shall be administered by a Board of Trustees ("the Board'') who shall be accountable to, and elected by, members of the trust.”
