Charitable Purpose

To assist people with financial problems that impact on their ability to manage their ongoing living costs as well as any income that is left over. This includes examining and resolving issues regarding unpaid or unmanageable debt and helping people to set priorities and stay on a path to resolve crisis. This includes related advocacy usually by phone or with supporting letters. It also includes working with clients alongside other community agencies particularly when clients have other needs including mental health, addictions or cultural issues requiring interpreting. Our work is holistic and we are mindful of the affects that lack of money has on a person's or family's ability to provide appropriate shelter, food,electricity , transport, clothing and health needs. Mission The Newtown Budgeting and Advocacy Service is dedicated to providing free, confidential, culturally aware and non judgemental budgeting advice to individuals and families in the Wellington area.
