Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The objects for which SOMANZ is established are: 1. To make known the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, as defined in the Bible and the canons of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa New Zealand and the Doctrinal Statement of SOMANZ, by sending short-term teams to developing nations. 2. To serve the peoples of the developing Anglican churches, to encourage and challenge the leaders to discover more about renewal in the Holy Spirit and to proclaim the salvation found in God's only son, Jesus Christ. 3. To stimulate and help the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia to fulfill its call to mission in proclamation, nurture, loving service, social responsibility, and care of creation among all peoples and in particular, to respond positively to the challenge of short-term mission. 4. To pursue such other goals as will, in the opinion of the Council, help SOMANZ to achieve all or any of these objects.
