Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To bring a voice, visibility, rights and personal empowerment to all intersex persons who live in Aotearoa New Zealand; To challenge the current notion of sex being exclusively binary; To campaign against harmful and unnecessary surgery until the individual is able to understand the risks, the purpose, the options, the benefits, of the proposed surgery, and to provide informed consent; To establish a safe, confidential space and community support for intersexuals to share their experiences and heal together; To establish national access to appropriate, free, professional counselling for intersex; To establish a professional and accountable advocacy and liaison service; To establish a Speakers Bureau of knowledgeable, supportive speakers willing and able to present to a wide variety of audiences; To develop a wide range of supportive, comprehensive educational material that informs and provides well researched material that furthers the aims of the trust....
