Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Paremata Playcentre is a family/whanau led, licensed early childhood centre. We are a co-operative community based centre, in a beachside area, where play and learning are valued for children and their whanau. Paremata Playcentre provides a rich environment that is fun, safe and stimulating, where friends and whanau share their values and energy as they play and learn alongside their own and others’ children. Paremata Playcentre is situated at Ngati Toa Domain, nestled between the sea and park with a great view of trains racing past. Many families come from the local area as well as Porirua, Whitby, Pauatahanui and Pukerua Bay to enjoy our purpose-built Centre and big green outdoor play area. Playcentre is a family organisation where * we empower adults and children to play, work, learn and grow together * we honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and celebrate people's uniqueness * we value and affirm parents as the first and best educators of their children so that whānau are strengthened
