Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Te Whare Wananga o Te Waipounamu Trust Board ("Te Whare Wananga") was set up in 1994 to deliver practical, hands-on training for minita-a-iwi and laity in the Anglican Māori Diocese of Te Waipounamu and throughout Australasia. Te Whare Wānanga is constantly devising new programmes in ministry formation and education. Kaupapa Whakahaere – our mission statement Te Whare Wānanga o Te Waipounamu sees education and training as the way forward for our people. Tikanga Māori and Karaitiana Māori are at the heart of Te Whare Wānanga. Te Whare Wānanga aims to deliver matauranga Māori through quality education and training.
