Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The Government established a scholarship fund under the Ngarimu VC and 28th Maori Battalion Scholarship Fund Act 1945, and the purpose of this Board is to exercise control and administration of the Ngarimu VC and 28th (Māori) Battalion Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Entity Structure

Board membership comprises; • The Minister of Education (Board Chair) – currently delegated to Kelvin Davis. • The Minister for Māori development • The Secretary for Education • Members of Parliament from each of the Māori electorates • Representatives from each of the 4 companies making up the 28th (Maori) Battalion, and, • A member of the Ngarimu whanau • A former recipient of the fund
