Our vision is to nurture inter-generational prosperity and well-being within our community. Our purpose is to equip individuals and their whanau with the tools for doing so in a supportive Christian, kaupapa Maori environment, and with a specific focus on developing a mindset and pathway for success in their lives and that of their tamariki. Wai Ora was started over 32 years ago by Marama Dey to work with youth and whanau. This continues to be who we work with but the services to meet the needs of these groups have changed over time to reflect the changes in the community.

Entity Structure
Wai Ora Christian Community Trust is a not-for profit organisation that is governed by a board of seven trustees. Two trustees are also Directors of Te Kakano Kainga Ora Ltd which is a 100% owned subsidiary of Wai Ora Christian Community Trust. Combined employees and volunteers support the various activities throughout the year. The subsidiary Te Kakano started operation on 31 March 2020.
