Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To carry out the functions of Justices of the Peace, primarily certifying copies of documents, witnessing statutory declarations and affidavits, and presiding in Court over minor offences and remand applications, in a non-political and non-sectarian manner, having in view the oath of loyalty sworn by all Justices at their swearing-in to be true to the Crown and uphold the Law and Constitution without fear or favour, affection or ill will, all entirely without charge.

Entity Structure

Member of the Royal Federation of Justices of the Peace for New Zealand; we have a Council of 11 members consisting of our President, two Vice Presidents, Registrar/Treasurer, Immeditate Past President and six council members. Main source of funds is from member subscriptions and the Association relies fully on it's voluntary officers and memebrs to run all of the services for the Association.
