Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

1. Assist in funding the development and promotion of pharmacy education in New Zealand; 2. Assist in funding study and research into the art, science and practice of pharmacy, and 3. Ensure that New Zealand pharmacists have the opportunity to remain at the forefront of their profession. Two entities are involved in delivering this mission – New Zealand Pharmacy Education and Research Foundation Trustees (Trustees), and New Zealand Pharmacy Education and Research Foundation Board (Board).

Entity Structure

The Trustees and Board were incorporated under a single trust deed. The Trustees collects donations/administers the investment fund, and pays income to the Board to distribute as research grants/prizes/scholarships. The Board consists of 3 pharmacists nominated by PSNZ, 1 person nominated by Auckland School of Pharmacy, 1 person nominated by Otago School of Pharmacy, and 1 pharmacist appointed by NZHPA. 3 PSNZ staff, who are not part of governance, undertake operational requirements.
