Charitable Purpose

To be united, innovative, and the leading marae in Te Tau Ihu ō te Waka a Maui, ensuring Tinorangātiratangā is able to flourish for the benefit of our whānau, hapū, iwi and our mokopuna.

Whakatu Marae is the principal home of six iwi of the top of the south, it is a place in which mana (prestige), tikanaga (customs) and values are practiced in their true setting.
