Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

1. To establish a community centre in Wellington for various community gatherings such as regular Sunday and Wednesday Filipino religious activities, weekly sports activities and various other social and cultural functions of the Filipino community. 2. To organise a Labour weekend Filipino reunion in Wellington aimed to reinforce friendship between the different Filipino groups/organisations all over New Zealand through various social events, cultural and sports activities. 3. To provide assistance and support to the senior citizens of the community and through cooperation and coordination with other Filipino groups/organisations with the same aims and purpose. 4. To assist the Filipino youth in the advancement of education and learning, sports and understanding of the Philippine culture and to coordinate with other Filipino groups/organisations with the same aims and purpose. 5. To provide childcare assistance to working Filipino families in looking after their pre-school children.

Entity Structure

• The trustees/members are all volunteer workers and donate their own time to work when they are required or requested to work for UPWELL Trust any time of the year. The trustees/officers meet informally at least once a month. The UPWELL Trust has three (3) appointed officers – Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary.
