Charitable Purpose

• To foster a thriving Catlins community, which is able to retain its young people and care for its older folk. • To protect the values the Catlins community holds dear. • To foster community pride. • To encourage ideas and activity which will move The Catlins forward in a sustainable way. • To assist the dissemination of information about the Catlins area and community. • To encourage education about the natural, cultural and historic environment of The Catlins • To foster co-operation within the community. • To encourage the provision of facilities which will ensure the protection of The Catlins environment and the safety and enjoyment of people, including those with disabilities. • The Society is a non profit Society.

Entity Structure

• Membership shall be open to all persons interested in the promotion of the Society's objects.• Officers shall be: a Chairperson, a Secretary, a Treasurer - or Secretary/Treasurer - and Committee members (numbering between three and nine). • These Officers shall be nominated, seconded and voted for at the Annual General Meeting. • Committee members may be co-opted as required.
