Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To establish and operate amateur transmitting stations under the current Radio Regulations and amendments. To provide education to all sections of the community in the various branches of electronics and amateur radio and to encourage technical achievement and responsible operating procedures. To co-operate with Regional Councils and the Ministry of Civil Defence in the operation of a Civil Defence organization under the Civil Defence Act and to provide communications when required by the New Zealand Police for search and rescue.

Entity Structure

The club has a committee consisting of the President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, the Radio Station Trustees, AREC section leader and not less than five members. The committee is elected at the annual general meeting and meets monthly with a quorum of five.
