Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Strengthen relationships within Whanau, Hapu, and Iwi. Identity, sense of belonging, promotes wellbeing to enable one to make good life decisions. To restore relationships within whanau i.e. identify whanau members who will participate in making positive changes. Ensure Whanau are supported and plans are realistic – ensure implementation effectively to achieve goals working within a time frame. To work from a strength based approach – focus on whanau strengths, providing resources to enable a young person to change for the better for his or her wellbeing. To involve Whanau and community agencies to create or develop positive relationships with each other – this will build trust with Whanau to feel they can approach and seek help in time of need. Professionals need to have an understanding of their needs to provide adequate support at the same time. Provide a safe and effective process for Whanau to work through their issues.

Entity Structure

Trust Structure: Our Trust Deed states that we must have four Trustees. We currently have one Trustee and one Advisor that constitutes our governance board. We are in the process of appointing new trustees and are hoping that this will be in effect by the end of October. Operational Structure: Our operations are managed by the Senior Pastor of Our City Church, the Our City Church Community Ministry Leader and a team of volunteers.
