Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Mission: Literacy Turangi delivers accessible quality literacy services designed to ensure the peoples living in rural communities around the Southern-end of Lake Taupo, Tongariro and Ruapehu District are critically literate and able to realise their social, economic and cultural potential. Kaupapa: Literacy Turangi will honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi by operating in accordance with Tino Rangatiratanga and guided by Manaaki Tangata.

Entity Structure

Literacy Turangi Board of Trustees consists of four members which includes; - Chairman - Treasurer - Secretary The Board employs a full-time Manager to oversee the running of the organisation. Current Trustees: George Jensen Moewai Solomon Maureen Smith Sandra Carroll Chairperson: George Jensen Trustees meet as required.
