Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The overarching goal of Shakti’s services is to enable safety, empowerment, well-being and self-reliance of its client groups, who are predominantly women and children of immigrant ethnic background. Shakti Community Council Incorporated provides 24/7 crisis information, safehouse accomodation, casework, counselling, life skills development and allied services including advice, information and advocacy. The group also provides education, training and research.
