Charitable Purpose

The role of Te Kaunihera Kaumatua o Wairarapa Incorporated is to give support to Iwi, Kaumatua Tangata Whenua o Wairarapa including Taura Here Roopu-Kaumatua residing in Wairarapa and those appointed by the Kaunihera who are not kaumatua but are interested in the affairs of the Kaunihera.

Entity Structure

The aims and objectives of the Kaunihera is basically to preserve and safeguard the Mana of the Kaunihera. To act in an advocacy capacity in liaison with the government and local councils, community groups and whanau katoa re: health education, justice, welfare families at risk etc. and to assist in addressing local concerns and issues that may impact on kaumatua. Te Kaunihera Kaumatua O Wairarapa provide on going advocacy counselling and assistance to whanau katoa 24/7 as required.
