Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The Society is established and maintained exclusively for charitable purposes (including any purposes ancillary to those charitable purposes), namely: • advancing education by identifying and providing support for the Japanese literacy, numeracy, linguistic, and cultural needs of children, youth, adults, and the elderly in the community; developing, promoting, and delivering accessible Japanese education services; providing opportunities to experience Japanese history and culture; providing suitable facilities and educational resources; and selecting and training adult tutors to teach Japanese literacy, numeracy, linguistic, and cultural skills. • benefitting the community by supporting and promoting the multicultural community in New Zealand; and doing such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of this purpose including promoting any activity not in conflict with this purpose.
