Charitable Purpose

Whanautahi Trust commenced operating with the purpose to provide services that supported families needing whanau ora, legal support and advocacy. It has redefined its purpose to support whanau suffering trauma, abuse, and addiction. It achieves its purpose by having relationship with service providers, whanau ora, health, legal, local and central government. It is 100% voluntary. It does not have contracts or receive any funding to assist it with its purpose.

Entity Structure

The structure of the trust is small and fluid. In this manner it is able to remain responsive. The chairperson is the main source of effort, and is sometimes supported administratively with a part time administrator. Main tasks are calendar, appointments, and filing. The trust meets mainly via phone meetings which again are very informal. The focus is always on the delivery of service and not the cost of service.
