Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The mission of Tiaki te Mauri o Parininihi is to ensure the long-term protection of the health of Parininihi, reintroduce kōkako and other species lost from the area, and strengthen people’s connection to the land. We aim to achieve our mission by • Creating integrated animal pest control to provide full ecosystem protection. • Monitoring key forest health indicators. • Reintroducing missing species that are vulnerable to predation and habitat decline. • Ongoing engagement with expert technical support to ensure the best methods are used. • Strong partnerships with tangata whenua, central and local government, community and business sectors.
