Entity Structure

The Otago Rural Fire Authority is a body corporate and registered charity. The board consists of members appointed by the relevant member organisations. A chairperson is elected every two years at the commencement of the financial year. The board appoints and employs a principal rural fire officer to undertake fire control measures in the wider Otago District and carry out the board's responsibilities as a Fire Authority. The Authority has seven full time staff.
