Purpose & Structure
Charitable Purpose
The purpose of Kōtui Ako is to provide equitable educational opportunities within and across schools and kura for all ākonga/learners through online learning. In particular the Kōtui Ako will:
Enable a collaborative community of schools, kura, teachers, students and whānau throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
Create high quality learning pathways and opportunities to meet the current and future needs of all ākonga learners.
Build teaching and leadership capacity for online learning through the provision of professional growth and mentoring.
Honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi to support the needs of Māori learners and their whanau/hapu/iwi
Advocate for sustainable online learning in the Aotearoa New Zealand education system.
Kōtui Ako is committed, in attaining its purposes, to positive relationships that are based on active participation, collaboration and reciprocity.
