Purpose & Structure


Charitable Purpose

The objects for which the Board is established are to: • Optimise the health of PWID and other skin piercers, to promote the reduction of drug related harm and to prevent the spread of blood borne diseases throughout the Midlands. • Provide Needle Exchange services and support to needle exchange attendees and provide other drug related harm reducing activities in the Midlands. • Affirm the dignity and worth of people who inject drugs so that they may be empowered to make decisions on their use of drugs and drug injecting equipment which are based on a sense of their own self worth and dignity. • Facilitate, support and strengthen the participation of PWID in the provision and development of the Trust's services and activities. • Build and maintain strong links with and between complementary health services for PWID in the Midlands. • Provide resources or access to resources that allows for the development of personal health skills by PWID.

Midlands NEX Trust is a Not-for-Profit organisation governed by the Midlands NEX Trust Board. The Board employ two full-time staff and ten part-time staff to manage and operate the four needle exchanges across the region.
