Charitable Purpose
The Trust’s purpose is to:
• Educate and engage the youth of New Zealand in civics awareness and understanding;
• Empower youth through an understanding of the legal and political systems so they can be active citizens and make informed decisions; and
• To foster a national impulse and movement in civics, civics education, and awareness.
To attain our purpose, the Trust aims to develop, structure and deliver a civics education curriculum and supporting programmes, focussing on but not limited to young people in intermediate and high schools.
The Trust remains an apolitical organisation, allowing for bipartisan engagement.

Entity Structure
The Trust currently has five trustees, including the Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary.
The Trust runs programmes relating to civics education in New Zealand that may be operated by those outside of, but overseen by, the Board of Trustees.
The Trust and its programmes are financially sustained by grants, donations and koha and is staffed by volunteers. There are currently no volunteers who sit on the Board but in the future they may be appointed per the Trust Deed.
