Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The purpose of the MRCT was to build a walkway/ cycleway from Molesworth Drive to Cove Road in Mangawhai, alongside the Tara Creek for public enjoyment. After building 3.5ks of track our efforts have been thwarted by the local council (KDC)and the development (MWI Central) adjacent to the track. Essentially we have been closed down as we have been denied access due to health and safety reasons. The council has decided to take over the future development of the track.

Entity Structure

MRCT consisted of a committee for planning and decision making and relied on donations, and volunteer work mainly by the committee members but also occasionally contractors and the public for planting work and the likes. Due to the above situation, we are disbanding the trust and have decided to gift the remaining funds to 3 other community groups that we feel are important within our society
