Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Young Authors Project (YAP) helps young people with life limiting illnesses, aged 4 - 20, feel the pride and accomplishment of becoming published authors. YAP’s mission is to personally meet and collaborate with youth and their families to create stories through imaginative exploration and creative writing. The process aims to provide a creative outlet and respite for patients suffering from chronic pain, immobility and emotional distress.

Entity Structure

Our trust deed states that we must have between four and nine Trustees. We currently have five Trustees that constitute our founding members and they hold the positions of Executive Trustee, Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Member at Large. All trustees are currently based on the North Shore, Auckland.
