Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To advance and promote the Montessori philosophy of education and assist with the establishment and maintenance of Montessori classrooms in the Kapiti area by; firstly, establishing and maintaining a Montessori Primary classroom in the Kāpiti area, and secondly by assessing the needs of the Kāpiti community with regards to Montessori education on an ongoing basis, and respond appropriately, and thirdly, to promote, and increase the public understanding of, the Montessori philosophy.

Entity Structure

The Kapiti Montessori Education Trust was formed by a group of parents and educators looking to promote Montessori style education on the Kapiti Coast. Our trust deed states that we must have between four and ten Trustees. We currently have six Trustees that constitute our governance board, including three executive positions: Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary.
