Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Ensure that the stories in the book “We Can Do Anything” of stories from Polio survivors remains an integral part in Taranaki's history. Grow the fund to assist in the promotion of immunisation programs in New Zealand that prevent childhood illnesses.

Entity Structure

The Chairman of the Trust is Barrie Smith (MNZM JP) of Stratford and the Secretary/Treasurer is Doug Hutchinson of Hawera. The other trustees are Barbara Williams of Okato, Shirley Hazlewood (QSM) of Kaponga and Mary Stanley of Stratford. There is one co-opted member to the Trust, Melanie Hurliman who is the Immunisation Coordinator for the TDHB. Co-opted members do not have voting rights.
