Charitable Purpose

The founding faith of Rongopai shall rest upon the Ringatu Faith. To respect all differing religions, faith of whanau and embrace them within the tikanga me ona kawa of Rongopai Marae, to enable all whanau reciprocal rights and respect for the Tikanga me ona kawa of Rongopai and return to Rongopai for all whanau/hapu activities without reservation To embrace and affirm whanau, hapu development through whakapapa, whanaungatanga, manaakitanga and te reo Maori me ona tikanga

Rongopai Marae is a marae on Maori Reservation Land. The Maori Reservation Regulations 1994 require that where a reservation is a marae the trustees of the reservation shall draw up, in agreement with the beneficiaries of the marae, a charter for the reservation. A copy of the Rongopai charter is published below. This charter is not a part of the formal rules of the marae as required under s17(1)(c) of the Charites Act 2005.
