Charitable Purpose

To provide a site and meeting place for people. to enhance the traditions of the past for future generations. to have facilities enabling a contemporary approach to modern day activities. to ad minister income received in relation to the Marae for the general advancement of the beneficiaries to promote health, physical and spiritual well being, economic welfare, education, social and cultural awareness.

Orimupiko Marae if based at 3611 Eltham Road Opunake Taranaki. clause 1.d of our charter allows for the beneficiaries to determine the number of trustees for the purposes of administration. Our AGM 26th May 2018 elected 7 trustees for this purpose. Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer make up part of the 7. we are affiliated with Te Kahui o Taranaki which provides guidance and support but does not control or in any way direct our operations.

Orimupiko Reserve Trust is a marae on Māori Reservation Land. The Māori Reservation Regulations 1994 require that where a reservation is a marae the trustees of the reservation shall draw up, in agreement with the beneficiaries of the marae, a charter for the reservation. A copy of the Orimupiko Reserve Trust charter is published below. This charter is not a part of the formal rules of the marae as required under s17(1)(c) of the Charities Act 2005.
