Charitable Purpose

To support parents, families, and whanau who have experienced the death of a baby at any gestation or age either before, during, or after birth. To provide parents, families, and whanau with information to assist them in making informed decisions regarding their loss. To provide education to health and medical professionals on the experience of baby loss. To raise awareness of baby loss within the wider community. To network with other organisations who hold similar aims to Sands.

Sands Whakatane is a non-profit, charitable entity run by volunteers who support parents, families, and whanau through the experience of baby loss. Sands Whakatane has a Committee of five members including the Chairperson, Secretary, Media Liaison, and Hospital Support.
