Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To establish a Marae for Ngaati Makirangi, in particular Nga Uri o Ngaati Kohua and Ngaati Tongaroawhai, as a meeting place for gatherings such as Weddings, Birthdays, Tangihanga and any other celebrations and cultural activities. To foster and encourage Maaori Language, customs,culture and tradition and their study, and to provide tuition and training in them; To develop long term employment opportunities and support educational schemes and institutions that enhance the capacity and skills of Marae Whanau. To continue to foster the support of Kiingitanga as a integral part of the Marae Whanau's cultural identity and wellbeing. Refer to Deed
