Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

To improve the wellbeing of Whanau but in particular to Whanau of Tikirahi. We want to embed behaviours that are underpinned by the principles of Pono, Tika and Aroha and to achieve a growth in People capacity will result from increased engagement with learning, increased satisfaction, increased confidence, increased skills and capabilities, increased commitment to the values and creation of a positive and stimulating environment.

Tikirahi Trust is a marae on Maori Reservation Land. the Maori Reservation Regulations 1994 require that where a reservation is a marae the trustees of the reservation shall draw up, in agreement with the beneficiaries of the marae, a charter for the reservation. A copy of the Tikirahi charter is published below. This charter is not a part of the formal rules of the marae as required under section 17(1)(c) of the Charities Act 2005.
