Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

In the absence of a council water supply; To develop and maintain water sources, intakes, pipelines (some 10 km), storage systems and other components of the public water supply system. To make potable water available to every person living in or visiting Te Whaiti To deliver in a reliable, economic and equitable basis, a community water supply to all members including the two marae within the design area To provide filtered treated water of good domestic quality and quantity

Entity Structure

The structure is one of management, maintenance and provision of pipes and systems that deliver potable water to the community on a community owned basis. Any surplus moneys obtained will be retained to cover maintenance and possible expansion of the system. Management and operations are controlled by a triennially appointed committee.
