Charitable Purpose

Kāti Māhaki Ki Makaawhio is charged with responding to the needs of the Makaawhio Rūnanga and communities locally and connected to Te Waipounamu (South Island). Our Charitable purposes identifies thirteen areas covering health, welfare, education, environment, economic, development and culture.

Entity Structure

Board of Directors comprises of 6 directors. Directors retire on 3 year cycle. Directors provide the direction and focus to operations with the chair and secretary developing any service or projects scope and agreements. The provision of operational services to meet our charitable purposes and to avoid additional overheads costs is via a contract with Te Runanga O Makaawhio (TROM)
