WISPA is established to lead and promote gender equity for women and girls in sport and physical activity at all levels in Aotearoa New Zealand, including by: Leading, advocating for, and influencing changes to, the sport and physical activity system in Aotearoa New Zealand to ensure gender equity; Promoting gender equity in sport and physical activity through public engagement, education, and awareness-raising initiatives; Gathering, developing, and disseminating knowledge, research, and insights on gender equity in sport and physical activity to inform policy, practice, and understanding by stakeholders and the public; Liaising and collaborating with organisations, communities, and stakeholders to advance shared goals for gender equity in sport and physical activity; and Developing, delivering, and supporting programmes, campaigns, and activities that improve gender equity outcomes in sport and physical activity.
